  • This web site supports Ceilidh, Clog, Folk, Country, Square, Barn, Morris, Irish Set Dancing you will find Groups, Bands and Gatherings on our Ceilidh News Page along with other pages of interest on the site

    The club is known as the Gateshead Ceilidh Club and has been running since 1987 ( Visit the History Page ) the website with the North East in the title is to attract new members not only from Gateshead, but those people from the North East who enjoy dancing.

    We are a group of friendly people who enjoy Ceilidh and Folk dancing and we invite you to join us. Beginners, Experienced, Young, Seniors all are welcome. Each dance is walked through first so we all know what is required. There are friendly members to guide you should you require help, so that you may participate in the dances from coming in the door, to leaving after an enjoyable nights dancing.

    We have members from far and wide who meet at Gateshead Old Town Hall NE8 1HE ( should you need a map to find us click on. www.Googlemaps.com and type in the post code ) We meet on the First Tuesday of each month at 8.00pm click here for the programme page. Ceilidh Club Programme

    The Ceilidh Club is run by a small committee who arrange the MC/ Caller who in turn run the programme and call the dances for the evening. The membership is free, (Just turn up to be a member) there is a small cover charge for the nights dancing. There is usually a small bar open for drinks and refreshments most of the evening.

    We hope to be able to advise members of Ceilidh news in the North East on the web site. Should any member wish to let other members know of any news and wish to place it on the website, send an email to the Webmaster with your Name, Telephone number, Address, the name and details of the news you wish to put on the site. Or telephone 01913892965 should I be unable to answer please leave clear details on the answer phone. News placed on the web site is at the discretion of the webmasters.

    A new page has been added 6th July 2011 for Photographs and Videos
    We will do our best to place your Photographs and Videos on the web site which relate to the club and have permission of those in the photos and videos. The person sending them to us will be responsible for getting the permission. Please send them to the Webmaster via the internet, details of where and when taken and with written permission to publish on the web site.

    The Webmasters and the committee thank you for any contribution you have donated but, have the right to reject any Information, Pictures, Videos, that they consider not applicable.
